PLEASE DO NOT:
-Apply an excess of lotion to your healing tattoo. (Using too much will keep your tattoo too moist, will smother it, and can actually hinder the healing process.)
-Pick or scratch your healing tattoo. Let the scabs slough off naturally; they will fall off on their own when they're ready.
-Use anything abrasive on a healing tattoo such as a washcloth or loofah. Patience and gentleness are key during this process.
-Expose your healing tattoo to direct sunlight. Once healed, sunscreen will help prolong the life of your tattoo. Sun exposure is likely to accelerate the fading of your ink.
- Swim or submerge your healing tattoo in pools, baths, lakes, rivers, etc. This can damage scabbing and potentially cause infection.
